Why we do what we do

Our story

We are Ellen and Kathryn, and if you’re wondering, yes, we are twins.

We grew up in Preston and fell in love with dancing and the outdoors. Everyone said, “You should get a proper job” but instead we decided to give performing arts a go. Countless auditions, long megabus journeys and sofa surfing doesn’t get any more glamorous years in, but we loved our work and we navigated our own way through the industry.

Repose’s beginnings

During lockdown -like so many others- we felt the hardship. Performance work was canceled, studios and theatres shut, and we all became isolated. We decided to create something that we knew the industry was craving.

We created this platform to give professionals & hobbyists the training they needed to keep their skills, flexibility & wellbeing topped up whilst the world remained isolated. It was a wonderful way of giving us routine, goals to conquer, and new people to meet, even when our worlds had turned upside down. When lockdown ended, we could see how valuable Repose had become to artist’s training, and wanted to keep pushing movement lovers towards their mobility goals, and to keep pushing their limits!

We understand how hard it is to get the training needed to keep bodies at such high standards for performing & achieving desirable skills. Whether that’s in-between shows, jobs, auditions, during training seasons, show seasons & rest periods, we base our training on what is needed for injury prevention, improving technique & wellbeing. This will ensure you have a long & healthy career, and you will enhance your art, improve your skills quicker and stay injury free.

Our ethos

Move. Connect. Progress.

We have designed Repose as an open house for all movement creatives that provides all training and wellbeing needs from the comfort of your own home.

We allow artists to train wherever, & whenever with a range of live & recorded classes, on a personal level with top, professional instructors. When artists feel limited by commuting time, fitting training in around work, the financial pressures of trying to attend more classes in studios or gyms, we have the answer to help you look after your body to enhance your skills, achieve your goals & stay connected as part of our community.
